Florine D. Parker

Florine D. Parker, 86, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church, 404 E. Glendlord Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Noah Headrick officiating. Burial to follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or Pennies for Cancer or the American Diabetes Association. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in 1943. On August 31, 1946 she married Theodore ‘Ted’ Parker in St. Joseph, MI at Trinity Lutheran Church. Florine worked at Lincoln School in the St. Joseph School District as a Food Service Unit Manager for 20 years until she retired. She was a member at the St. Joseph Senior Center where she enjoyed playing Bingo and Bunko. Florine was a member of Grace Lutheran church where she was involved in the OWLS group. Volunteering was something she loved doing whether it be at the Senior Center, or the Red Cross. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was something she enjoyed greatly. Florine is survived by her daughters Jane Lesniak of Niles, Diana (Lynn) Tippy of St. Joseph and Lisa (Ryan) Katowich of St. Joseph; sons Richard (Barbara) Parker of Benton Harbor, Jon Parker of FL and Ted Parker of St. Joseph; grandchildren Paul, Kristina, Nichole, Lori, Shelia, Jeff, Lauren, Grace, Nathan; great grandchildren Ashley, Bailey, Micheal, Devon, Jakub, Brianna, Emalie, Zachary, Ayana, Aiden and Loryana and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Theodore on November 01, 2008 daughter Linda Herman on May 5, 1985 sisters Doris Wohler, Ruth Johnson and brother Edwin Samsen.
