Doris L. Arent

Doris L. Arent, 86, of Watervliet, MI passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in St. Joseph, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 25, 2013 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 1650 Bainbridge Center Rd, Watervliet, MI 49098, with Reverend Miryam Hammond officiating. Burial to follow at Bainbridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Doris was born June 26, 1927 in Benton Harbor, MI to Edward & Edith (Marske) Kuehl. She was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School in 1946. On December 15, 1953 she married Chester Arent in St. Joseph, MI. Doris and her husband were fruit farmers for over 40 years. They would take apples, pears, plums, and strawberries they grew to the Benton Harbor fruit market, where she was well known for her yellow trucks. Doris was an avid University of Michigan fan and enjoyed watching the football team. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Watervliet, and was a member of the senior center in Coloma. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years Chester Arent, and son David Arent both of Watervliet. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Carl Kuehl.
