Lowell Jasper, 82, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 at his home, with his family by his side.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Market St., St. Joseph with Pastor Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Monday October 14, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Lowell was born October 12, 1930 in St. Joseph, MI the third of five sons of Herman & Alice (Geisler) Jasper. On October 31, 1953 he married Elsie Neumann in Benton Harbor and then moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado to serve his country in the United States Army. They returned to St. Joseph where Lowell owned and operated Jasper Farms for over 50 years. In his spare time he loved fishing & hunting and spent many winters in Florida crafting his skills.
Lowell is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elsie Jasper of St. Joseph; children Nancy (Greg) Clark of St. Joseph, Virginia (Kevin) Patnaude of South Haven, Duane Jasper of Holland, Cindy Jasper of St. Joseph and Laura (Frank) Jasper-Stump of St. Joseph; five grandchildren Michelle Clark, Amy & April Patnaude, and Havian & Estevan Jasper-Belmontes; four great grandchildren; two brothers Dale (Joan) Jasper of St. Joseph and Jerry Jasper of St. Joseph. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Donald and Robert Jasper.
