Steven D. Hanners

Steven D. Hanners, 59, of Benton Harbor passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 at his home. A Celebration on Life Service will be held 11:30 A.M., Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may visit Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. He was a self employed building contractor for many years in the Benton Harbor area. He previously worked at St. Joe Fishery and Hanners Fishery. Steven enjoyed fishing and shooting pool, most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Steven is survived by his mother Ruth, daughters; Stephanie (Richard) Halfacre of Benton Harbor, Kristy Hanners of Water Town, WI, Dana (Bill Barron) Hanners of Manchester, TN, Star Young of Dowagiac and Mathew Bell of Benton Harbor, 12 grandchildren and siblings; Franklin (Susan) Hanners of Benton Harbor, Michael Hanners of Sister Lakes, Christine Hanners of Sister Lakes, Mary Head of Benton Harbor and Violet (Brian Prescott) Hanners of Benton Harbor, many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Earnest.
