David E. Gotsch

David Edward Gotsch, 56, of Stevensville, MI passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. David was known as “Eugene” to his friends and was born November 10, 1956 in St. Joseph, MI to Donald A. & Dorothy L. (Radde) Gotsch. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and enjoyed his time spent at the local legion halls. Dave was an avid licensed ham radio operator using the call sign KC8MND. He was also involved in the Berrien County Youth Fair where he volunteered and sponsored a trophy for the Reserve Champion Simmental Market Steer. He was a true “railfan”, spending almost every weekend watching trains. His hobbies also included Great Lakes history and lore, especially dealing with shipwrecks of the Great Lakes. Dave was also a constant companion and comfort to his mother during her final days. Dave is survived by his sister Kathy (David) Ganz of Fair Lawn, NJ and two nieces.
