Eldonna Koebel

Eldonna Koebel, 91, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, August 2, 2013 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Market St., St. Joseph with Pastor Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Run Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Eldonna was born July 24, 1922 in St. Joseph, MI to William & Henrietta (Tilly) Domke. She graduated from St. Joseph High School. On June 14, 1941 she married Robert Koebel in St. Joseph. Eldonna was a full time homemaker who kept a busy schedule caring for her family. She was chosen 4-H outstanding leader of the year in 1960 and was a past member of the Tri Unit Fire Auxiliary and the “Dashing Dozen” Home Economics Group. She also enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing and knitting. Eldonna is survived by her daughter Jan Dasse of Stevensville; sons Robert (Karen) Koebel of Berrien Springs and Terry Koebel of Fort Meyers; five grandchildren Rebecca Downey, Elizabeth Koebel, April Langley, Andrew Koebel and Eric Dasse; 12 great grandchildren; and a sister Dolores (William) Armstrong of St. Joseph and her Royalton Manor Family. Eldonna was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a great grandson.
