Jerry Wayne Ewing

Jerry Wayne Ewing, 68, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Those wishing to share a memory of Jerry at the gathering will be welcome. Cremation will take place following the services. Interment will be at North Shore Memory Gardens. Jerry was born April 17, 1945 in Monette, AK to John & Violetine (Hooker) Ewing. After attending Benton Harbor high School he went on to attend classes at Lake Michigan College where he received his certification as an electrician. Jerry was an electrician for a little over 30 years in the Southwest Michigan area. He was a member of the American Legion Post 105 where he enjoyed spending time with his friends. Jerry is survived by his daughter Tammy (Robert) Hayes of Bristol, IN and step daughter Deanna (Howard) Schmidt of Sawyer, MI. Sister Patricia (James) Todd of Stevensville, aunt Juanita White of Benton Harbor, 6 grandchildren and girlfriend Beverly Pociask of South Haven. He was preceded in death by his parents, son James Eric Tanner in 2004 and brothers Ronnie Ewing and Jimmie Ewing.
