Courtie Weller

Courtie Weller, 89, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Providence Health Care Center in Zeeland, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 5, 2013 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 555 Delaware, Benton Harbor with Fr. William Jacobs Jr. officiating. Burial will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kalamazoo. Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the church. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Donor’s Choice. Those wishing to share a memory of Courtie online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Courtie was born January 25, 1924 in Fulton County, IN to Courtie & Eva (Krieg) Weller. He served his country in the United States Army from 1944 until 1946. Courtie was a Foreman for Michigan Bell for 35 years. He was a member of the FOP Lodge 96 in St. Joseph and St. Bernard Catholic Church. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, hunting, his winter home in Florida, and his cabin in Baldwin, MI. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. Courtie is survived by his daughter Kathy Veersma of Zeeland, MI; son Doug Weller of Benton Harbor, MI; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; one brother and two sisters. Courtie was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Alice, second wife Beverley, son Timothy Weller, seven brothers and sisters, and son-in-law Timothy Veersma.
