Julietta's Obituary

Julietta Nehring, 97, of St. Joseph, went to meet her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Westwood of Niles. A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Court & Market Sts., St. Joseph, with Rev. Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. Sunday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church. Those wishing to sign Julietta’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Julietta was born April 9, 1916 in St. Joseph to Julius & Louise (Raschke) Radde. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1934. On October 22, 1950, she married Erdman Nehring in St. Joseph. Julietta was employed for several area businesses before gaining employment with Memorial Hospital, St. Joseph in the accounts payable department. She retired in 1987 after nearly twenty years, and continued to volunteer at the hospital and also Maude Preston-Palenske Memorial Library. Julietta was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in the Valpo Guild, the Altar Guild and the Ladies Aide. She enjoyed sewing, reading, the band shell concerts and shopping-she was always on the go. Julietta was a loving and caring person who never met a stranger. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Julietta is survived by her daughter Gretchen (Thomas) Lenz of Niles. She was preceded in death by her husband Erdman on March 23, 1984, and her brother Vernon Radde in 1972.
