Lorine's Obituary

Lorine M. Williams, 97, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Market St. St. Joseph with Pastor Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, July 15, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid or Lutheran Child & Family Service. Those wishing to share a memory of Lorine online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.  Lorine was born February 12, 1916 in St. Joseph, MI to Albert & Augusta (Greening) Tilly. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1934. On June 12, 1938 she married George Williams at Trinity Lutheran Church. Lorine was a full time homemaker who kept a busy schedule caring for her family. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Ladies Aid, Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary in St. Joseph and Former Officer of AAL now known as Thrivent.  Most of all, she enjoyed her grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great great grandchildren, traveling the country to visit them whenever she could.   Lorine is survived by her three sons Dennis (Judi) Williams of Lansing, MI, David (Nancy) Williams of Baton Rouge, LA, Daniel (Barb) Williams of Kalamazoo, MI;  daughter Linda Williams of Benton Harbor; twelve grandchildren Darren Williams, Julie (Dave) Shook, Derek (Nicole) Williams, Jill (Mariano) Soto, Melaine (Mike) Cooper, Michele (Wayne) Thaxton, Christi (Jay) Daigre, Charity (Garth) Gheradini, James (Darcy) Ashmead, Mechele (Troy) Sutten, Matthew (Allie) Williams, Mark (Megan) Williams, twenty-four great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters Dorothy and Louise, brother Albert and great grandson Ethan Williams.
