Christina's Obituary

Christina Marie Sill, 71, of Benton Harbor, went to her home in Heaven on July 3, 2013 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 8, 2013 at St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church, 671 McAllister, Benton Harbor with Pastor Jeremy Laitinen officiating with burial to follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Sunday, July 7 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthews Church or Michigan Lutheran High School. Those wishing to share a memory of Christina may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com. Christina was born in Benton Harbor to Nelson & Evelyn (Frazier) Mundt on August 14, 1941. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School and went on to receive her teaching degree from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. On December 21, 1963 she married Arthur Sill in Benton Harbor. Christina taught in Charlotte, MI and then in Eau Claire, MI. She then went on to work in the finance industry for various banks. She went on to devote her time to raise her family and volunteering at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. She was president of the Altar Guild and helped with numerous other committees. Christina loved attending car shows with her husband and participating in parades. She enjoyed cooking and canning and also loved knitting blankets for her grandchildren. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her husband and family. Christina is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Arthur Sill, sons Clark (Stacey) Sill of Moore, OK Carl Sill of Benton Harbor, and Alan (Jennifer) Sill of Watervliet, grandchildren Adam, Lydia (Robert), Emma, Aaron, Kirsten, Mark and Matthew, and great grandson Dante, sister Judy (Raymond) Bodak , brother Leo(Mary Ellen) Mundt, brother and sister-in-laws Fred (Mary) Sill, Fran (Dave) Siegler, Ruth (Dale) Mack and many nieces and nephews and her extended families which include the Frazier and Mundt families. She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother and father in law Walter & Lydia Sill.
