Dorothy Mabel Kort, 90 of Benton Harbor passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at her home in Benton Harbor.
Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 10, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life service will be immediately followed at 10:00 A.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel with Father Jim Morris officiating. Dorothy was born on September 2, 1922, in Chicago, IL to Witold & Antonina (Blistrub) Bielinski. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1941. She married Oscar Kort on June 2, 1961 in Chicago IL. For many years Oscar and Dorothy shared their love for farming, farming bees for honey and raising Boston Bull Terriers. Her two favorite dogs were Twinkie and Binkie.
She is survived by her sister Florence Diederich of Stevensville; nieces and nephews Donald (Cynthia) Diederich of Stevensville; Barbara (Edward) Eberhardt of Saint Joseph; Phillip (Sherry) Bielinski of Saint Joseph; Eileen Schumann of Flossmoor, IL; Jean Alber of Mesa, AZ; and several great nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Witold & Antonina Bielinski; her husband Oscar in 1995; sisters Isabelle Bishop; Stephanie McCarthy; Alvina Leff; and brother Harold Bielinski.
