Alvin R. Deckert

Alvin R. Deckert, 84 of St. Joseph, MI passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Caretel Inns in St. Joseph. A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Alvin was born November 10, 1928 in St. Joseph, MI to Henry & Olga (Steltner) Deckert. On January 23, 1954 he married Marlene Hasse in Bridgman, MI. He was a self-employed homebuilder and carpenter for many years. Alvin enjoyed listening to classical music, jogging and fishing. He had a great love for his family and friends. Alvin is survived by his loving wife Marlene, daughters Dair (Tim Mosler) Deckert of Phoenix , AZ, Lesa (Chester) Willets of Simpsonville, SC, Nancy(Wayne) Klug of Stevensville, MI andJennifer(Mark) Swanson of Stevensville, MI, grandchildren Heather(David) Swaschnig, John, Allison, Daniel, Katlyn, Eaketrina and Nicholas Willets, Lindsay (Evan) Kuite, Marsie and Sarah Klug, and Jamie, Alyssa and Jack Swanson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Esther Ruppel, and brothers LaVerne, Robert and H. Russell Deckert.
