Edith T. DiDonato

Edith T. DiDonato, 92, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center in St. Joseph, MI. Edith was born November 22, 1920 to Thomas & Edith Craig in Londonderry, Ireland. After completing high school Edith went on to continue her education and receive a Master’s degree as a Registered Dietitian, she then worked at a hospital in Ireland. On March 4, 1945 Edith married Peter DiDonato in Ireland and was the first Irish War Bride. The couple then moved to the United States where she continued to work as a dietitian and begin her involvement with the American Red Cross. Edith is survived by her sons Carl DiDonato of Palm Harbor, FL and Peter(Linda) DiDonato of Western Springs, IL, grandchildren Casey, Kylie and Kari and brother Bill Craig of Northern Ireland. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Peter. Funeral Arrangements are pending with Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater, Fl 727-796-1992.
