Grace M. Guardino

Grace M. Guardino, 82, of Benton Harbor passed away on Weds., June 5, 2013 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in St. Joseph. Arrangements have been entrusted with Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI. Grace was born December 22, 1930 in Coloma, MI to Samuel and Raffaella (Recupido) Cordaro. On July 22, 1950 in Watervliet, MI she married Samuel Guardino. Grace volunteered for over 25 years at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. She is survived by her husband of over 62 years Samuel Guardino; two daughters Luann (Jerald) Anderson of Baroda, MI and Marie (Alan) Arend of St. Joseph, MI; three grandchildren Allison Arend, Matthew Arend and Shelby Anderson; a brother Michael (Loretta) Cordaro of Stevensville, MI; and a sister-in-law MaryAnn Cordaro of Coloma, MI. Grace is preceded in death by her parents-Samuel and Raffaella and a brother Lewis Cordaro. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Benton Harbor, with Father William Jacobs officiating, on Mon., June 10, 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Visitation will precede the service on Monday at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home from 10:00-12:30 P.M., with a Rosary being recited at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to either Hospice At Home or to St. Bernard’s Church.
