Robert “Bob” Demkovich, 87, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Caretel Inns in St. Joseph. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 8, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 211 Church St., St. Joseph with Fr. James Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. with a Rosary Recited at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, July 7, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Bob was born April 6, 1926 in Whiting, IN to Joseph & Mary (Balon) Demkovich. He served his country in the United States Army. On April 27, 1973 he married Nadine McNitt and she preceded him in 1980. Than on December 20, 1996 he married Carole Schultz in Jensen Beach, FL. Bob was the owner of the Silver Dollar in St. Joseph, MI and also worked for Whirlpool Corporation and Thisen Clemens oil Company in St. Joseph. He was a member of the St. Joseph Elks #544, Benton Harbor American Legion #105, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus #3798 in Paw Paw. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling with his wife to their winter home in Florida. Robert is survived by his wife Carole Demkovich of Benton Harbor; step-daughter Constance Odom of Arkansas; step-son Earl (Cammie) Pillivant of Dowagiac; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Gloria Agay and brother-in-law Eugene (Irene) Schultz. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Nadine, two brothers Joseph and John Demkovich and three sisters Helen Butgereit, Mary Forney and Betty Ender.
