James Douglas, 80, of Sawyer, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Rivercrest Specialty Hospital in Mishawaka, Indiana. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Liberty Cemetery in Texas. Arrangements are entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Those wishing to sign Jim’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Jim was born January 22, 1933 in Martins Mill, Texas to Washington & Justine (Palmer) Douglas. He served his country in the US Army during the post Korean War era. On November 23, 1968, he married the former Sandra June Boozer in Buchanan, Georgia. Jim started his career as a Right-of Way agent for Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline, retiring after forty years from ANR Pipeline. Jim is survived by his wife Sandra; three sons-Michael of Sawyer, Ty of Juno, Alaska, Gideon of Benton Harbor; two grandsons-Samuel & Landon Douglas; two sisters-Joyce (Floyd) Stewart of Grand Saline, TX, Susan (Fred) Bidens of Dallas, TX; a brother Coker Douglas of Dallas; and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Danny Douglas.
