Erick E. Fischer

Erick E. Fischer, 90, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at First Assembly of God, 3084 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Dan Miller officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Erick was born April 27, 1923 in Gerdoun, East Prussia, Germany to Emil & Emilia (Brude) Fischer. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1941. Erick served his country in the United States Army from 1943 until 1946. He then attended Michigan State University where he received his bachelor’s Degree. On September 29, 1951 he married Ruth Marquardt in Benton Harbor, MI. Erick was a Manager for Clark Credit Union for many years. He also worked for Leco Corporation and Pyramid Oil Company. He was a lifetime Michigan State Alumni and enjoyed reading, golfing, bowling, and spending time with his family especially his grandson. Erick is survived by his wife Ruth Fischer of Benton Harbor; son Daniel (Carolyn) Fischer of Alpharetta, GA; grandson Noah Fischer of Alpharetta, GA; brother Harold (Betty) Fischer of Benton Harbor; sister Alice Mann of Benton Harbor. Erick was preceded in death by his parents.
