Alexander Thierbach

Alexander “Alex” Thierbach, 81, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Friday, June 7, 2013 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Roy Castelbuono officiating. Burial will be held at Ruggels Cemetery in Baroda at a later date. Friends may visit from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Seventh-Day Adventist Church or Lakeland Continuing Care Center. On May 2, 1964 he married Janice Nernberg at the Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Alex worked for Whirlpool in the painting department for almost thirty years. In his spare time enjoyed golfing and bowling with his wife. He was also known as the community handyman willing to do any project for anyone. Alex is survived by his brothers David, and Fred Thierbach; sisters Elizabeth Knapp and Christine Rousch; and many nieces and nephews. Alex was preceded in death by his parents, sister Emily Nowlen; brothers Bill, Jim, Reinhold, and Paul Thierbach.
