Marian was born November 29, 1914, in Hinchman, MI, to Edward and Lily (Love) Evans. She was crowned Miss Berrien Springs, and she was then crowned Miss Blossom Queen in 1933. As queen she was invited to the 1933 World’s Fair in Chicago, IL, and was given the keys to the city. Prior to her passing she was the oldest living Blossom Queen. Marian and Pasquale Iannelli were married in 1934 in Hinchman. She was active in the former First Congregational Church of Benton Harbor, Altrusa Club, Monday Musical Club, and many other organizations relating to her life-time interest in music.
Marian is survived by her children Josephine (Kenneth, deceased) Brummel of Santa Barbara, CA, and Vincent (Jane Schaafsma) Iannelli of Portage, MI, her five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, brother Wendell Lewis Evans (Doris), and twenty-three nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Pasquale, her sisters Letty Mitchell, Florence Wahl, and Genevieve Zick, brothers Roland Evans, William Evans, and R. Keene Evans.
The family is grateful to Caretel, where Marian resided for the past six years. They are also deeply indebted to niece Diane Iannelli and nephew Ronald Evans, as well as long-time friends Mildred DeHorn and the late Virginia Archer for their love and devotion over many years.
