Sandra's Obituary

Strong and steadfast; kind and caring; anchor through numerous storms; these are terms that aptly describe the life of Sandra Williams. Born April 13, 1942 to Vernon and Edna Carr, Sandy was a lifelong resident of Southwest Michigan. Sandy married Alex Bettich in her late teens and immediately started a family; Randy, Renee, and Wendy were born into the household. After a tragic accident took Alex’s life in 1971, Sandy rallied her young children around her and pressed on. Sandy later married Ronald Raymond Nimtz and welcomed his children, Rhonda and Bret, into the family. Ron and Sandy built a home in Watervliet and took much pleasure in showing their classic 1956 Chevy in car shows as a member of The Southwestern Michigan Car Collector’s Club. They also treasured the several trips they made to Hawaii, with friends and family. Once again Sandy found her strength tested when she lost Ron at an all too early age. Incredibly The Lord provided for Sandy yet again by bringing David Williams and his sons, David Jr. and Donnie into her life. The marriage of Dave and Sandy proved to be an incredible union. Words can’t describe the pleasure they derived out of spending time at their cabins on the Tahquamenon River in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with their children and grandchildren. On June 27, 2013 Sandy Kay Williams was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sandy was 71 years old. Although her life ended far too early for her family and friends, she will now be rewarded for a life well done. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents Vernon Carr and Edna Schuh; her first husband Alex Bettich, her second husband Ronald Nimtz, and her step-son Bret Nimtz. She is survived by her husband David Williams; her children Randy (Trisha) Bettich, Renee Bettich Gast, Rhonda Nimtz, Wendy (Ivon) Bettich Hays; step-sons David (Sarah) Williams and Don (Amber) Williams; her brothers & sisters, Michael Turner, Rhonda (John) Webb, Diane (Paul) Lozen, Dixie (Larry) Richter, Mitzi (Mark) Moore, Toni (Steve) Myotte, Wesley Carr, & Ryan Carr; and ten grandchildren-Taylor, Ivon, Aliza, Riley, Race, Alexandra, Owen, Luke, Ross, and Ava. Celebration of Life Eternal services will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 1, 2013 at The Chapel-An Evangelical Free Church, 4250 Washington Ave., St. Joseph.
