William's Obituary

Mr. William H. Strunk of Benton Harbor, died at the age of 96 on April 5, 2013 at Lakeland Continuing Care Center. He was born on December 26, 1916 in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He was a life-long resident of this community and a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. His wife of 71 years, Alvina Strunk and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Strunk preceded him in death. William was a pattern- maker by trade and retired from Auto Specialties, Inc. He is survived by his 3 children; William R. Strunk of Berrien Center , Andriette Dryden of Ann Arbor, and Allen (Diane) Strunk of Augusta, Georgia. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Noel (David) Minger, his great grandson, Jacob of Goodrich, MI, a step -grandson and great grandchildren He is also survived by his sister Edna DeMorrow of Ludington, MI, several sister-in-laws, a brother-in-law, and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Diann Strunk, his son-in-law, Captain Ronald Dryden and his great granddaughter, Olivia Minger. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, MI. The family appreciated the staff of Lakeland and Hospice at Home for the loving and excellent care they provided during Mr. Strunk’s stay at their facility. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, April 9 at Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Thomas Batsky officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sodus. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 until 11:30 A.M Tuesday preceding the service at the funeral home.
