Frances's Obituary

Frances Lomonaco, 59, of Coloma, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 555 E. Deleware, Benton Harbor, with Fr. William J. Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Benton Harbor. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., with prayers recited at 6:45 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Frances was born July 1, 1953 in Benton Harbor to Joseph & Rosalie (Costanza) Lomonaco. She graduated from St. John’s High School in 1971. Frances was involved in the family business, Lomonaco’s Grocery, in Benton Harbor for many years. Most recently she was employed at All-Phase Electric, retiring in 2000 after twenty years. Frances was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Watervliet and the Coloma Lioness Club, and volunteered at the North Berrien Senior Center in Coloma. She enjoyed watching classic Hollywood movies, cooking, and spending time with her family and many friends. Frances was known for her smile; she always put others first before herself. She enjoyed the trip to Italy with her sister Carol Lomonaco, to trace her family roots and see the sights. Frances is survived by her children-Robert J. Payne of Lansing, MI, Kari (Brian) Baldwin of O’Fallon, IL, Kelly Payne and her husband Christophe Bossaert of Lincoln, NE; six grandchildren-Wyatt & Joey Payne, Benjamin, Ava & Bailey Baldwin, & Francis Bossaert; her siblings-Roseann (Robert) Hoven of Buchanan, Jerry Lomonaco of Riverside, CA, Kenneth (Diane) Lomonaco of Sodus, Anthony Lomonaco of Boston, MA, Carol Lomonaco of Milwaukee, WI, Michael (Liz) Lomonaco of Seminole, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews; her partner & friend John Post of Coloma; and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Joseph Lomonaco, Jr.
