Michael's Obituary

Michael “Mike” L. Camp, 49, of Stevensville, MI passed away unexpectedly May 28, 2013, at his home. A private Celebration of Life Service will be held following the visitation at The Mark III. A private burial will take place at Spring Run Cemetery the following day. Friends may visit from 2 P.M. until 4 P.M. Sunday, June 2 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph. Memorials may be made In Care of Brittaney Camp, for the college fund of Gracelynn Thompson. Those wishing to share a memory of Mike may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com. Mike was born November 19, 1963 to Robert H. Camp & Joan Louise Keesberry in Addison, IL. The Camp family bought the Mark III in 1972 where Mike began working at the family business at a young age. Mike was a proud, dedicated and tireless worker for The Mark III for many years, where he enjoyed being a chef. Mike was a passionate fan to the Chicago Cubs, Notre Dame and Nascar, if none of his teams were playing then Mike enjoyed a spirited conversation about sports or politics. He also enjoyed astronomy, A.M. radio talk shows and listening to any music by The Kinks. Most of all Mike was a very loving and caring father, grandfather, brother and husband. Mike is survived by his father Robert, daughter Brittaney Camp and granddaughter Gracelynn Thompson of Bridgman, MI; brother David (Deborah) Camp of Stevensville, MI; sister Linda (Stephen) Frappier of St. Joseph, MI; brother Bob (Stacy Vermilyer) Camp of St. Joseph, MI; sister Jeannine (Timothy) VanLiere of Mattawan, MI. Also nine nieces and nephews Christina, Jennifer, Kyle, Ryan, D.J., Ellissa, Daniel, Jillian, and Marin. He was preceeded in death by his mother Jody in 1999.
