David Michael Kraklau

David Michael Kraklau, 71, of St. Joseph, passed on April 28, 2013. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel and Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Dave was born into this world on January 1, 1942, to Henry and Dorothy (Zwar) Kraklau. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1960 and Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1964. After college graduation he joined his father and eventually became the President of Advance Products Corporation. Dave married Joan Hanson on December 11, 1964, and together they raised four children. He loved spending time with his family, boating, traveling and golfing. He also enjoyed fishing and gourmet cooking. Dave is survived by his mother, Dorothy Kraklau; his loving wife, Joan Kraklau; son, David Michael Kraklau, Jr, MD (Shayleen) of Tunisia; daughter, Kelly Kraklau Bosker (Keith) of Chicago, IL; son, John Eric Kraklau (Sandy Poll) of St. Joseph, MI; and daughter, Kerry Kraklau Campbell (Bradford) of Alexandria, VA. He is also survived by his wonderful grandchildren, Amelie Kraklau, Mamata ‘M’ Bosker; Jacob and Alexa Kraklau; Ella, Alexandra and William Campbell; sister-in-law Barbara Meek (Bill); and brother-in-law, Frank Hanson. Dave was loved by everyone and had many friends in the community and in the business world. His family loved him so much and he will be sorely missed.
