Norman's Obituary

Norman “Norm” E. MacKenzie, 88, formerly of Benton Harbor, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Country Manor Care Center in Bridgman. Celebration of Life Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Services, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Tim Pietrogallo officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Three Oaks with Military Rites conducted by the North Berrien Military Rites Team. Friends may visit from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Mr. MacKenzie was born May 14, 1925 in Chicago to Reuben H. & Norma E. (Bommerschiem) MacKenzie. He graduated from Three Oaks High School Class of 1943. Norm served his country in the US Army during WWII stationed in the Pacific Theater. On June 29, 1946 in Three Oaks, he married the former Priscilla Anne Brady. Norm was employed at Whirlpool Corp. St. Joseph Division, retiring in June 1987 after thirty-seven years of service. He was a former member of the Blizzard Brigade Snowmobile Club. Norm enjoyed cars and everything about them, camping, fishing, and wintering in Florida. Norm is survived by his children -Meredith Morrow of Miami, FL, Joyce (Alan) Prillwitz of Berrien Springs, Michael (Cathy) MacKenzie of St. Joseph; six grandchildren-Jason, Chad, Kelly Prillwitz, Kimberly Morrow, Stephanie Vaught, & Heather Morrow; six great-grandchildren, Cody Fajardo, Skylar Morrow, Gabriella Morrow, Brock Vaught, Thadeus Vaught and Brady Morrow, two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Jack in April 27, 2002, and Priscilla on May 3, 2002.
