Juanita M. Horsic

Juanita Maye (Robertson) Horsic was born on March 15, 1922, in Bluefield, West Virginia. She attended and graduated from St. Joseph High School and Twin City Business College. Early in her life, Juanita worked as a secretary for National Farm Loan Association in St. Joseph, a branch office of the Federal Land Bank of St. Paul, MN. She also worked for Whirlpool Corporation, which was called 1900 Corp. at the time. Juanita married the love of her life Peter W. Horsic on December 16, 1945. Juanita was a homemaker, enjoyed reading and sewing. She especially enjoyed woodworking projects with her husband and traveling with her family. Juanita enjoyed living with daughter Linda and family for the past two years. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of St. Joseph, Michigan. Juanita died on March 1, 2013 in Edmond, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her husband Peter, (May 2005); brother, Edgar Stark, and sister, Marie Robinson; parents Edgar and Ada Maye (Sneed) Robertson. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Ken) Fairchild, of Edmond, Oklahoma; son, Jeff (Roger Newman) Horsic of St. Joseph, Michigan; daughter Lori (Mary Curtis) Horsic of Red Wing, Minnesota; granddaughter, Jennifer Horner of Edmond, Oklahoma; grandson, Jason (Lexie) Horner of Dallas, Texas; great-granddaughter, Katelynn Hale of Edmond, Oklahoma; great-grandson, Jake Horner of Dallas, Texas; and niece Bonnie (Scott) Deja of South Haven, Michigan. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Congregational Church, 2001 Niles Ave. St. Joseph with Rev. Dr. Robert Braman officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the church. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma.
