Frieda was born January 28, 1919 on the family farm which was located on the present Lakeshore High School property. Her parents were Otto and Wilhelmina (Kroening) Doroh. She worked at Whirlpool Corp when it was “1900” and other manufacturing companies, making war products during WWII years. Her love was being a nurse’s aide at Lakeland Medical Center. After her retirement, she spent many more years volunteering at the hospital. Frieda was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Joe where she sang in the choir for years and enjoyed being part of the women’s quilting group.
Frieda enjoyed life and meeting people. She always had a smile and extended her hand to everyone she met. She was a master gardener and loved sharing her flowers with others. Attending the Municipal Band Concerts, watching sunsets, and spending time with family were her favorite pastimes.
She is survived by her brother Gerhardt Doroh (Rose) of Benton Harbor, sister Anita Nusbietel of Rochester Hills, MI, sister-in-law Mrs. Raymond (Gloria) Doroh of Bridgman, and several nieces and nephews.
