Norma Brazda

Norma Brazda, 96, of Eau Claire, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013 at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 P.M. Friday, April 5, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel & Cremation Service, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Brian Lutz officiating. Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home A private entombment will be held at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma at a later time. Memorials may be made to Sarett Nature Center. Those wishing to Share a memory of Norma online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com Norma was born August 17, 1916 in Benton Harbor, MI to Charles & Emma (Dasse) Kent. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1934 and obtained an Associate’s Degree from Benton Harbor Business College. On January 28, 1940 she married Emil Brazda Jr. in St. Joseph, MI. She worked for Benton Charter Township as an Assistant Comptroller and also owned and operated Shady Acres Pet and Gifts in Benton Township for many years with her husband. Norma was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great- great grandmother who will be missed dearly. Norma is survived by her son Dave (Pam) Brazda of Eau Claire; grandchild Kris Hensley; great grandchildren Josh, Eric, and Brandon Peek and great great grandchild Osiris Peek. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandson David Brazda.
