Steven's Obituary

Steven Paul Woodrick, 54, was called home by his Lord and Savior on March 16th, 2013. He began his life in Long Beach, California, and was raised in Michigan by his parents, Gerald and Emma (Sheri) Woodrick. He was a graduate of Lakeshore High School in Stevensville, Michigan where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Cathleen Renee (Yore) Woodrick. Steve volunteered for the Air Force at the end the Vietnam War era, and after 24 years of faithful service he retired as a Master Sergeant in 2000. Steve then worked for the Defense Finance and Accounting Services as a civilian to continue his service to his country. He believed it was his personal responsibility to take care of the troops, especially since two of his sons followed in his honorable footsteps and are active duty military. A loving husband and father, he is survived by his wife, Cathy, his children, Andrew (Yavie), Mary, Matthew, and David, and his six grandchildren, Raven, Nantan, Cougar, Winnafred, Aemillia, and Kostini. He is also survived by his father, Gerald, his sister, Laura (Jeff) May, and his brother, Mark Woodrick. He is preceded in death by his mother, Sheri, and sister, Lesa. Steve was a strong, stoic man who was well respected by many, and his quiet generosity knew no bounds. He will be forever missed, but his loyalty, strength, and love will live on in our hearts. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 9:00 A.M. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Phil Bubar officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville. Friends may visit from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday, March 22, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Woodrick Family. Those wishing to share a memory of Steven online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.
