Evelyn's Obituary

Evelyn I. Reschke 90 went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday March 22, 2013. Evelyn was born April 20, 1922 to Albert and Martha (Lambrecht) Totzke in Benton Harbor. She later moved to Stevensville and graduated from Stevensville High School in 1940. On July 22, 1944 she married George Reschke at St. Mathews Lutheran Church in Benton Harbor. The sign on the side of their car stated “Watch Derby Grow”. Evelyn was an employee of The 1900 Corporation in her early years, but in 1956 Evelyn, her husband, Father and Father-in-law started Metal Processors Co. in her garage on Roosevelt Rd in Stevensville. She and George retired in the early eighties. She was very active in Ladies Aid, OWLS, and Women’s Bible Study at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Evelyn and her Husband were instrumental in starting New Life Lutheran Church in Sebring, Florida. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, needle point, boating and camping at Camp Lor-Ray in Muskegon. She loved her home in Lake Placid, Florida playing cards, shuffle board, and Bocce Ball with her friends, and would spend up to six months of the year in Florida. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Albert (1990) Martha (1993) Husband George (1995) Daughter Darla (1999) Brother Harvey (2005) Grandson Brent (2012) and three infant Children at birth. Visitation will be at Starks & Menchinger Chapel 2650 Niles Rd St. Joseph, Michigan 49085 from 5:00-7:30 PM on Monday March 25, 2013. The Celebration of Life Eternal will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Stevensville, Michigan beginning at 11:00 AM. Earthly resting place will be in Lincoln Charter Township Cemetery. Memorials are to be made to the MLS Foundation 2777 Hardin Street Saginaw, Michigan 48602-3795 www.mls-foundation.org. She is survived by her Son Russ (Joy) Reschke of Benton Harbor, Granddaughter Heather (Danny) Austin of Thornton, Colorado Grandson Blake (Pollyanna) Reschke of Austin, Texas Granddaughter Jenefer Reschke of Benton Harbor Two Great Grandchildren Estella and Logan Reschke and Two Nephews Duane and Robert Totzke. And her favorite friend Mallie.
