Charlene M. Barker

Charlene M. Barker, 61, of Stevensville passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Rev. Franz Brandenburg officiating. Friends may visit from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Those wishing to share a memory of Charlene may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com. Charlene was born August 29, 1951 in St. Joseph, MI to Harlan & Isabelle (Skelton) Davis. She was a graduate of Eau Claire High School. Charlene worked at Shepherd Products for 35 years as a machine operator. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting afghans for her loved ones, watching her son-in-law drag race, and watching Notre Dame sporting events. Charlene had a wonderful sense of humor and loved life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Charlene is survived by her daughters Sheila (Jacob) Krieger of Benton Harbor and Shannon (Chris) Lockman of Stevensville; grandchildren Paul Hopson III, Kirstin Krieger and London Krieger, and her loving companion of 17 years Patrick Dashner, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Elizabeth Green and Lorraine Baldwin.
