Nicholas's Obituary
Nicholas Peters, 70, of St. Joseph, Michigan, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, MI.
A Mass Celebrating his life will be held 10 A.M, on Tuesday February 19, 2013, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 555 E. Delaware Ave., Benton Harbor, with Father William Jacobs Jr. officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Nicholas was born May 17, 1942 in Benton Harbor, MI to Richard A. & Marion L. (Butz) Peters. He attended St. John’s Catholic Schools and joined the Marines at age 17. Nicholas served his country overseas primarily in Japan where he played as a left handed pitcher for the Atsugi Flyers in Japan, and even held the record in pitching. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Grand Valley State College. Nicholas was in the box and printing industry for 35 years, and retired from Duo-Tang in 2008.
He is survived by mother Marion Peters of St. Joseph, MI, brother, James (Marie) Peters, of Jupiter, FL, and nephew James Joseph Peters, of Jupiter, FL.
Nicholas was preceded in death by his father Richard A. Peters in 1988.
