Wallace “Kenny” Dahms, 68, of St. Joseph, passed away, Wednesday, March 06, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 5:00 P.M. Sunday, March 10, at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 1200 W. Glenlord Rd., St. Joseph. Friends may visit beginning at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the Church. Private burial will take place at a later date at Shanghai Cemetery in Eau Claire. Memorials may be made to the family. Those wishing to sign Kenny’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Kenny was born February 19, 1945 in Benton Harbor to John & Kathryn (Hayes) Dahms. On April 15, 1967, he married the former Mary Farmer in Eau Claire. Kenny was employed by Auto Specialties in St. Joseph for 25 years until 1991. He then worked as a Security Officer at the Department of Human Services in Benton Harbor, and then retired from the maintenance department at Schroeder Motor Mall in Benton Harbor. Kenny was a member of Pilgrim Congregational Church. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, bowling, model trains, and was an avid Detroit Tigers & Lions fan. Kenny is survived by his wife Mary; his daughter Deb Dahms & adopted daughter Melissa Watson, both of Sodus; his granddaughter Lexi Evans; two sisters-Beverly (Bob) McCoy of Benton Harbor, Cindy (Cliff) Gerlach of Bridgman; brother-in-law Roy Farmer of Coloma; several nieces & nephews and numerous friends. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Judy Schultz, his son Danny Dahms, and sister-in-law Shirley Farmer.
