Juanita's Obituary

Juanita V. Fisher, 94, of Benton Harbor passed away Friday, February 08, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph with Reverend Terry Schneider officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit from 10:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Salvation Army. Those wishing to share a memory of Juanita may do so online at www.starks-menchinger.com. Juanita was born July 28, 1918 in Dowagiac, MI to Fred & Daisy (Kidman) Hungerford. On July 06, 1935 she married Ira William Fisher in South Bend, IN. She worked at New Products for many years as a punch press operator and retired from Heath Company in 1981 where she worked as a parts packer. She was a member of Scottdale United Methodist Church in Stevensville, MI. She enjoyed bowling and traveling with her husband all across the United States. Juanita loved spending time with her family and loved her numerous nieces and nephews very much. Juanita is survived by her brother Ronald Hungerford of St. Joseph, MI and sister Katherine Stanley of Benton Harbor, MI and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 72 years Ira W. Fisher and 18 of her siblings.
