Jack's Obituary
Jack Vanderboegh, 83, of Stevensville, passed away Friday January 11, 2013, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Eternal will take place at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2673 West John Beers Rd., Stevensville, with the Pastors of St. Paul’s officiating. Interment will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. Friends may call Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or Hospice at Home. An online memory book is available at www.starks-menchinger.com.
Jack was born July 22, 1929 in Baroda, MI, to Garold & Lucille (Storick) Vanderboegh. On July 2, 1949 he married Doris (Blenn) Vanderboegh at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Benton Harbor. Jack served in the United States Army on occupation duty in Japan following WWII. After a 38 year career at Whirlpool Corporation, Jack pursued his hobbies of gardening, fishing, hunting, and woodworking.
He is survived by his four sons: Larry (Christine) Vanderboegh of Los Lunas, NM; Mark (Karen) Vanderboegh of Fairfield, PA; David (Maria Teresa) Vanderboegh of Omaha NE; and Paul (Julia) Vanderboegh, of St. Joseph, MI; four grandchildren; Amy Vanderboegh, Allegra Vanderboegh, Aaron Vanderboegh, and Jordon Young; three sisters Joan (Richard) Silverthorn of Baroda, MI, Jerrie (Henry) Schinske of Berrien Center, MI, Elizabeth (Jerry) Squyres of Quinlan, TX; sister in laws Virgina and Norma. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris, sister Coral Mae Vanderboegh, and his brothers, William (Virginia) Vanderboegh of Baroda, MI and Donald (Norma) Vanderboegh of Mansfield, OH.
