Annabelle's Obituary
Annabelle Thornton Nemethy , 85, of St. Joseph ended her life’s journey January 15, 2013, at Lakeland Continuing Care in St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 1 P.M., with Pastor Franz Brandenburg officiating. Interment will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Friends may call Thursday from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials in lieu flowers may be made to Hospice at Home. Ann was born January 3, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. In September, 1949, she married Norman Thornton. Together they were blessed with four children. Ann loved her family, and had a passion for shopping, dancing, traveling, and having fun. She loved being around people, and made numerous friends throughout the years.
Ann Is survived by her second husband Frank Nemethy; two loving sons Danny (Sue) Thornton and Robert (Kathy) Thornton both of St. Joseph, sister, Helen Sikema of Decatur, seven grandchildren, Michelle Thornton (fiancé Joseph Baggett) of St Joseph, Jesse (Stephanie) Thornton of Stevensville, Jennifer Thornton of Houston, Peter Thornton of Indianapolis, Kelsey (Nathan) Van Dorn of South Bend, Alex Thornton and Christopher Thornton of Kalamazoo, and five great-grandchildren.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 49 years, Norman, two sons, Norman and Randy Thornton, sister, Virginia Redlick, and brothers, Leeland and Larry Manto.
