Judy's Obituary

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Judy Lynn Sirk, passed away, Tuesday, January 15, 2013 following a long illness. She was surrounded by her family and friends, at the home of long-time friends Betty and John Dodge. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 26 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 555 E. Delaware, Benton Harbor, with Fr. William J. Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Benton Harbor. She was born Judy Lynn Belin in Berrien Center, Michigan on March 17, 1952 to John and Doris (Earl) Belin. She grew up in Berrien Springs where she attended school. On September 28, 1970 she married Charles L. “Chuck” Sirk who preceded her in death on May 6, 2006. Judy was employed by Shoreham Terrace as a nurse’s aid, Action Garment Rental as a seamstress, The Dollar Tree and Lomonaco’s Grocery as a cashier. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts, and was always available to help others in need. Judy was a conservationist, working with the Wetland’s Conservation Association where she fought to protect the habitat of the endangered Mitchell’s Saytr Butterfly. She will be missed by her family and many friends. Judy is survived by her son Robert A. Sirk of Niles; her daughter Candi A. (Joe) Morgan of Watervliet; her step-son Phillip D. (Cindy) Sirk of Stevensville; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother Gregory (Johnis) Belin of Berrien Springs; two sisters-in-law Sharon Belin & Pam Belin; her brother-in-law Jerry Sirk; and many more extended family members. In addition to her husband Chuck, she was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers-John & William Belin.
