Virginia's Obituary

Virginia “Ginny” Pruiett, 84, of Benton Harbor, passed away, Friday, December 14, 2012 at Jordan’s Life Care Center in Bridgman. A Celebration of Life Eternal will be held 6:00 P.M. Monday at St. Joseph First United Methodist Church, 2950 Lakeview Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Harris Hoekwater officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Monday at the Church. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph First United Methodist Church. Those wishing to sign Ginny’s Memory Book online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Ginny was born March 7, 1928 in Monette, Arkansas to Hubert & Alberta (Whillhite) Blevens. She was employed at VM Corporation for 20 plus years, retiring as supervisor. Ginny moved to Los Angeles where she worked for the Department of the Navy for several years, returning to Benton Harbor-St. Joseph, where she was employed as a Nurse Aide at Memorial Hospital and Whitcomb Towers. Ginny was a member of St. Joseph First United Methodist Church where she enjoyed helping in the kitchen providing meals for different functions. She enjoyed golfing with her friends from VM, tending to her flower gardens, but most importantly, the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Ginny is survived by her sons-Lannie Pruiett of Aiken, SC, James (Jan) Pruiett of Benton Harbor; her daughter in law Maud Pruiett of Stockton CA; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her sister Lillian Lindaman of Herman, Missouri; and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Mitchell in 2006, three sisters Zelma DeLoach, Mildred Dixon & Helen Jeters, and her brother Henry Blevens.
