Caroline's Obituary
Caroline H. Siewert, 90, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:30 P.M. Saturday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Dr. J.O. Hosler officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial to follow at Millburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Caroline was born June 3, 1922 in St. Joseph to Arthur A. & Pauline (Kuden) Haase. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1939. Caroline was employed as a legal secretary at Killian & Spelman Law for many years, for several years at Kinney Law, both in St. Joseph, and finally as a data entry clerk for Lakeland Home Health Care, retiring after 20 years. She also owned and operated Antiques Etc. in Millburg, and she thoroughly enjoyed purchasing and renovating many rental properties over the years. Caroline was a member of the DANK and Monday Musical. She was known for playing the piano at the Whitcomb for Sunday church services, and in her earlier years, was an accomplished seamstress.
Caroline is survived by her son Robert (Donna) Siewert of Loudon, TN; her daughter Nita Brummel of St. Joseph; five step-children; a host of grand, great-grand & step-grand & great-grandchildren including special granddaughters-Liz Burrows of Benton Harbor & Roberta Siewert of Chicago; and special great-grandchildren-Heidi & DJ Burrows & Christian Siewert; her sister Elaine (Jack) Kerill-Crumb of St. Joseph; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Walter Siewert, her second husband Gene Auxtinee, her sister Leona Ott, & her brother Arthur R. Haase.
