Gladys Hill

Gladys (Beckman) Hill, 92, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 24, 2012 at St. Peter’s Church, 623 Church St., St. Joseph, with Rev. Gail Holman officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday, November 23, 2012 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Gladys was born June 12, 1920 in St. Joseph, MI, to George & Anna (Dunse) Beckman. On July 17, 1938, she married Bennett Hill in South Bend, IN. Gladys worked for Industrial Rubber Corporation for over 35 years. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at St. Peter’s Church. She was a very hard worker, and she loved going to Las Vegas. She especially enjoyed camping with her children and grandchildren. Gladys is survived by her sons Bennett (Carole) Hill of Baldwin, MI, and Richard (Doreen) Hill of Berrien Springs, MI; grandchildren Tami Hill, Traci Stoub, Richard Hill Jr., Shawn Hill, Bennett Hill, Jr., Jacquelyn Olson, and Carrie Hill; great grandchildren Brittany, Tabitha, Kassidi, Jackson, Jordyn, Hayden, Callahan, Colton, Ricky, Lauren, Hollie and Heather; sister Florence Hill of St. Joseph, MI; brother George Beckman of Niles, MI. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings Louis Beckman, Harry Beckman, Robert Beckman, Margaret Pullins, Mabel Godush and Martin Beckman.
