Roy “Jack” Dukesherer, 70, of Benton Harbor, passed away on December 4, 2012 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL. The family is hosting a Celebration of Life Gathering from 2:00 to 4:30 P.M. on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made in Jack’s memory to Northwestern University to support leukemia research. Those wishing to send the family an online condolence may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Jack was born on July 25, 1942 to Roy and Tena (Tomak) Dukesherer in Benton Harbor, MI. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1960. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Michigan State University and his Masters in Economics from the University of Arizona. Jack was a lifelong farmer in the Benton Harbor area and belonged to many farming organizations. He was a private pilot and enjoyed flying and spending winters in Florida. Jack especially enjoyed having long dinners in Chicago with his son Rob. Jack is survived by his son Rob of Chicago, IL; brother John (Kay) Dukesherer of Sister Lakes, MI; sister Judy (Rick) Hill of Rochester, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents.
