Carl was born May 10th, 1923 in St. Joseph to Emil and Ida (Jeschke) Reschke. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School and was blessed with a great work ethic. Carl was a farmer at heart and loved the land his whole life so naturally being a grocery store owner of Grau’s IGA made a lot of sense especially when many of his siblings helped him operate the store. He transitioned into the Tool & Die industry and worked for 41 years in the model department at Whirlpool where he retired. Carl was best known as Uncle Carl to everyone and whenever the family needed him to step in and help, he did so gleefully. A St. Joseph Township board member for 20 years, Carl loved the community he lived in but not as much as he loved his family, they always came first.
Carl is survived by brother Edward Reschke of Nahelem, OR; Erwin (Deana) Reshcke of St. Joe; sister Agnes Gillespie of St. Joseph; 24 nieces and nephews, and many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother George; sisters Hildegard, Anna, and Irene.
