Michael P. Moore, 35, of St. Joseph, passed away, Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his family & friends, after a three year courageous battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Saturday at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan or Fighting Crime Fighting Cancer. He graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1995, and from Kalamazoo Valley Community College Police Academy in 1997. Mike was a deputy with the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department since 1998. On April 18, 2009, he married the love of his life Kellie (Hanners) in St. Joseph. Mike enjoyed traveling and rooting for Notre Dame & the Chicago Bears. Mike is survived by his beloved wife Kellie; his parents-Mark & Susan (Tenerelli) Moore of Stevensville, Terry & Joanne Williams of Bauxite, Arkansas; his father-in-law & mother-in law Ronald & Charmain Hanners of St. Joseph; his siblings-Rachel (Kevin) Yurk of Pella, IA, Colleen Moore of Holland, MI, Terry Williams, Jr. of Bauxite, AR, Carrie Williams-Meacham of Searcy, AR, Tyler Williams of Bauxite, AR; his sister-in-law Angela Hanners of Alpena, MI; his paternal & maternal grandparents; three nephews-Charlie Williams of Alpena, MI, Carson Meacham of Searcy, AR, Oliver Yurk of Pella, IA; his best friend Brad Sammut of Grand Rapids; and his devoted canine companions Giovanna & Francesca.
