Elinor's Obituary

Elinor L. Carrier, 91, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away, Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at South Haven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in South Haven. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 3, at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, St. Joseph, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Rev. Andrew Menz officiating. Elinor was born September 29, 1921 in Watervliet to Harry & Grace (Cook) Robbins. She graduated from Lakeview High School in Chicago. She married Alfred Krieger and devoted her life to raising their family, as well as working with him at Remington Rand in Benton Harbor. Following Alfred’s death on December 7, 1967, she married Joseph Carrier. He preceded her on December 8, 1996. Elinor enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, bowling, and the time spent with her family. Elinor is survived by her children-Dorothy Chambers of St. Joseph, John (Janet) Krieger of St. Joseph, Carol (LaVerne) Hosier of South Haven; eight grandchildren-Kathy (Dave) DePappe, Michael (Christina) Lundeen, Tonya (Tracy) Plumb, Tatia Schneider, Troy (Laura) Krieger, Vern (Teresa) Hosier, Don (Cindy) Hosier, Tammy (Carl) Leadingham; & numerous great & great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son Timothy Robert Krieger on January 21, 2009.
