David Knox

David Knox, 85, of Stevensville, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 6, 2012 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 914 Lane Dr., St. Joseph with Fr. William Whiting officiating. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home or St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Those wishing to share a memory of David online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. David was born January 9, 1927 in Jackson, MI to William & Marion (Gray) Knox. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1945. David served his country in the United States Army Air Corp from 1945 until 1946. David then attended Jackson Community College where he graduated in 1948. On March 30, 1979 he married Josephine McTaggart in Fremont, OH. David worked in the food industry and retired form Michigan Fruit Canners in 1990. He was the Michigan Jaycee State Vice President and a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in St. Joseph where he was involved in many activities. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors, traveling to the Cayman Islands, and band concerts at the Band Shell. David is survived by his wife Josephine Knox of Stevensville; four sons; David (Christine) Knox Jr. of Pittsford, MI, Patrick (Cynthia) Knox of Osseo, MI, Timothy (Lauri) Knox of Hudson, MI and Jonathan (Liz) Knox of White Pigeon; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.
