Virginia A. Divis

Virginia A. Divis, 90, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 17, 2012 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Pastor Christopher Noffke officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor. Friends may visit from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Divis family. On June 4, 1949 she married Howard Thomas Divis in Bridgman, MI. She was a member of the Coloma Senior Center and Tri-County Ministry of Sister Lakes. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, and reading. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Virginia is survived by her daughter Kathy (James) Foster of Buchanan; sons Thomas Edward Divis of Benton Harbor and Francis Joseph “Frank” Divis of Benton Harbor; 5 grandchildren William K. (Alesia) Prince, Regina (Jeremy) Gitchell, Jeffery (Toby) Foster, David (Stacey) Foster, Derrick (Tasha) Copeland; 14 great grandchildren; and half-sister Becky Richardson. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-mother Nellie (Richardson) Apple and brother Robert Richardson.
