Thomas A. Webb

Thomas A. Webb, 90 of Coloma, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, September 27, 2012. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 1, 2012 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens in Coloma. Friends may visit from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Thomas was born July 21, 1922 in Cadillac, MI to Allison & Eva May (Carey) Webb. He graduated from Cadillac High School. He attended the University of Notre Dame, served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII, then graduated from University of Michigan where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. On November 5, 1949 he married Anna Betty Auler in Peru, Illinois. Thomas worked as a County Highway Engineer for the County Road Commission in Ottawa County, Illinois, St. Joseph and Berrien Counties, Michigan. He served as Engineer Manager of the Berrien County Road Commission and retired in 1979. Thomas then worked as a consultant for Barger Engineering, St. Joseph, Michigan. He was a licensed Professional Engineer. In his spare time he enjoyed wood working, electronics, playing cards, chess, and was an avid University of Michigan Fan. Go Blue! Thomas is survived by his wife Anna Betty Webb of Coloma; daughters Julia (Scott Deaner) Webb of Benton Harbor and Anna Tucker of Florence, Montana; son Karl (Christine) Webb of Green Springs, Ohio; six grandchildren Whitney C. Tucker, Derek H. Tucker, Sarah C. Webb, Leah M. Webb, Rebecca J. Webb and Matthew K. Webb. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Sarah Webb-Brown.
