Clara's Obituary
Clara Antoinette Quardokus, 89, of St. Joseph, passed away at her home in St. Joseph on Friday, August 31, 2012, surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday September 5, 2012, at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 555 E. Delaware, Benton Harbor, officiated by Father William Jacobs, Jr., with burial to follow at Lincoln Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph; with a Rosary said at 7:00 PM. Memorial may be made to SS John & Bernard Parish

Clara was born on September 19, 1922, to Antoni & Frances (Janitski) Demchinski in Chicago, IL. She married Robert E. Quardokus on June 28, 1947.
She retired as Secretary-Treasurer from St. Joseph Savings & Loan Association after 25 years. Clara was a very devoted member of SS John & Bernard Parish, where she served on many committees.
Clara is survived by three daughters Kay (Darryl) Williamson of Bangor, Gayle (Vince) Chacon of Benton Harbor, Cynthia (Joe) Mara of St. Joseph; eight grandchildren Susie (Jimmy), Sally, Darryk, Denise (Mason), Jonathan, Brian, Michael and Emily Rose; three great grandchildren Kaylee, Olivia and Nathan; and many nieces, nephews and loving family.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband Robert on July 7, 1975; son Eddy on June 12, 2010; parents; two brothers, Al Demchinski and Ed Callahan; and two sisters, Irene Abraham and Stephanie Ott.
Clara loved traveling and sunsets at Silver Beach with her “beach bum” friends. She will be most remembered for her love for her family, and her response to “I love you”, to which she always replied, “I love you more”!
