Luella's Obituary

Luella “Dolly” Garlanger, 69, of Eau Claire, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at St. Paul’s Lutheran, 3713 Naomi Rd., Sodus with Pastor Robert Duehlmeyer officiating. Friends may visit Tuesday, August 7th from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles. Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Ladies Aide of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Those wishing to share a memory of Luella online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Luella was born June 5, 1943 in St. Joseph, MI to Frederick & Ella (Mutz) Schultz. She graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1961. On September 30, 1961 she married Raymond Garlanger in Stevensville. She was an Avon sales representative for over 30 years and was also the bookkeeper for Stan’s Body Shop. She was a member of Ladies Aid for many years and also volunteered at Berrien General Hospital. As a home maker one of her favorite things to do for her family was baking. Luella is survived by her husband Raymond Garlanger of Eau Claire; daughters Lori (Bob McPherson) Sweeney of Holland, MI and Wendy (Jamie) Morse of Zeeland, MI; grandchildren Connor & Kari Sweeney and Spencer & Allison Morse; sisters Lillian Hasse of Buchanan, Virginia (Larry) Nitz of Plainwell, Shirley Dast of Bay City; brother Ronald Schultz of Stevensville. Luella was preceded in death by her parents.
